REFLECTION:
As Jesus concludes his Sermon on the Mount he makes it very clear that faith is more than just listening to his words or just repeating them. Action is required. Jesus tells us that if we listen to his words and act on them we are like the wise man whose house endured through storms because he set the house on solid rock. Jesus offers himself as the solid foundation on which we are to build our lives. Our faith and our actions are to be based on our belief in Jesus who transforms us and unites us with himself and his heavenly Father. Choices are part of our daily lives and, hopefully, they will be molded by our faith and reflect our confidence in our loving God. As Jesus’ followers we are expected to act in his name, serving each other as he did. Good works are the fruit of our faith but they also strengthen our commitment to serve others in Jesus’ name. It is important that we stay connected to Jesus so that as we thrive in our Christian life we reflect the love of our saving God to all those we meet.

1. What values have provided a strong foundation for you and your family?
2. What have you learned from your family that helps you make good decisions?

PRAYER:
You call me to act in your name, Dear Jesus. Help me to see the needs of others more clearly and become more willing to serve them. Amen
