REFLECTION:
Time is a confusing commodity. We wish it away yearning for an upcoming vacation or graduation or the holidays. We count on having time later on to exercise more, to spend time with friends, to study. We feel we don’t have enough time to accomplish all we need to do in a day. We struggle to balance the needs of today and planning for the future. Jesus reminds us that there will be an end to time. The Son of Man will come in a cloud with power and glory. We are challenged to live each day in preparation for His return. We are called to make spiritual growth a priority through prayer, reflection, and penance. Paul counsels us to conduct ourselves always in a manner pleasing to God. We are to “abound in love for one another and for all.” If we live in this manner, Jesus assures us, when the end of time does come, we can stand up and raise our heads, because our redemption is drawing near.

1. What have been the strengths of your prayer life? What habit of prayer could you strengthen during this Advent season?
2. What prayers will you say each and each week during Advent?

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, help me to use the time allotted me in this world for Your honor and glory. Help me to grow always in faith, hope and charity. Teach me to live in the present yet prepared for Your return in power and glory. Amen
