REFLECTION:
Trinity Sunday is a unique feast in the sense that it celebrates a doctrine rather than an event in salvation history. On this day we honor our belief in the mystery of the Trinity, reflecting that somehow there are three persons in our one God. The Father Who creates, the Son Who redeems, and the Spirit Who sanctifies are somehow One. We will never understand this mystery, but we can surely be grateful to this loving God Who created us and all that is good in this world. We can be thankful for this God Who incredibly became one of us, even dying in atonement of our sins. And wondrously, this God remains present to us in our hearts and in our assembly. We are never alone as this God walks with us always, teaching, guiding, protecting, leading us to union with God. Trinity Sunday is an opportunity to raise up in our souls appreciation for the awesome glory of our God and gratitude for God’s loving care for us.
1. Which revelation of God is most powerful for you: Creator, Redeemer, or Sanctifier? Has this choice changed for you over the years?
2. What kind of decision can the Holy Spirit help you with?
PRAYER:
Almighty God, humbled by Your love for me, I am in awe of Your power and Your glory. Draw me into the mystery of your existence and flood my soul with faith and hope in you. Amen
