Welcome!

Dear Friends in Christ,

Over the years, I have heard many comments from people who felt right at home as soon as they entered Ascension Church. Often times, our Ascension family has a way of welcoming people who come through the doors. This welcoming attitude shows that we are dedicated to being “a praying, caring, teaching, serving sign of God’s presence to the world.”

We strive to be a parish that supports one another in our journey towards the Lord. We strive to welcome all people who want to join us on that journey.

Over the last 50 years, Ascension has become a wonderful community of faith. As we head into the next 50 years, it is our faith that will guarantee we will continue to be “a praying, caring, teaching, serving, sign of God’s presence to the world.”

Our parish is a unique parish with special gifts. This is something to be cherished. However, our parish is part of a much greater community in the Archdiocese and the Universal Church. As the diocese continues to plan for the future, it is good to remember this larger community.

Ascension, St. Helen’s and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception have been working together for quite a while to build a relationship with one another. The discussions have been exciting. We have the opportunity to learn from one another and to share our gifts with one another. As we work together, our prayer is that the Gospel of Christ can be spread even more effectively.
