Ascension Parish provides many opportunities for adult faith development. Some are on-going and some are one time events. Below are those that are part of the regular life of the parish.

New groups are formed in the fall and in lent each year. Some groups meet continually as cohesive groups and some meet just for the seasons. Lectures are also held on the topic for those who do not want to be in a discussion group but who desire continuing faith formation.
Monthly gatherings for women are held on a variety of topics. All women of the parish are invited to attend. Programs do not build on each other as each is a one time event. There is usually a talk or reflection process, time for prayer and conversation and refreshments. Our annual highlight is a formal High Tea for fun, with prayer at the end. Past events have been on Mother Theresa and Celebrating the Friendship of Women. The seasonal times of Advent and Lent are also topics. Watch the bulletin for upcoming events.
Men gather monthly in the Witzman Center at 8:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month for faith sharing and discussion. All men are invited. An annual men’s retreat is also held.
In preparation for lent an evening is held in lent each year of a simple soup supper followed by a presentation and a prayer service. The men’s programs are on Monday and women attend on Tuesday. All are invited.
For a better appreciation of the Gospel readings that we will be hearing throughout the year sessions on those Gospels are held periodically throughout the year by Fr. Pat Tonry. To accommodate people there are both morning and evening sessions with baby sitting upon request. Check the bulletin for upcoming sessions.

Understanding the Hebrew Scriptures is held on Wednesday mornings from 9:45-10:45 for those adults wishing to learn more about Christian roots and how God speaks to us through the scriptures. All are invited and baby sitting is provided.
Occasional lectures are held by various organizations that are open to the whole parish. Check the bulletin for these events.
Classes in parenting are presented annually by the school. Classes for parents as they prepare their children for sacraments are held throughout the year.
