79ufv02m32vr20o3xrmpy3719sl.JPGThis October the Church celebrates the 100th anniversary of the appearance of the Blessed Mother at Fatima, Portugal.  Three young shepherd children encountered the Virgin Mary, transmitted her message to the world, and changed the Church.

Ascension was blessed to have the Traveling Pilgrim Virgin Statue for the United States here on September 15, 2017, which happened to be the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.

The statue itself was created by artists aided in their work by Sr. Luci, the last surviving Fatima child, 50 years ago and blessed by Pope Paul VI.

Events at Ascension included and unveiling of the statue at 8:30 AM, followed by the 9:00 School Mass.  Our sanctuary was open for prayers from 10:00-5:30, and the day concluded with 6:00PM Mass and a Rosary.
