Stewardship
The Stewardship Commission is comprised of three Committees; Sharing Our Gifts, Planned Giving and Financial Advisors.
The objectives of the Commission are to:
- Recruit and train lay ministers and increase individual involvement in parish ministries
- Communicate parish financial goals to parishioners
- Provide sound financial advice to pastor
- Ensure affordable school and staff compensation
- Plan and budget for major parish projects and long range capital improvements
- Educate parishioners on the benefits of estate planning and encourage consideration of planned giving as a part of that planning
- Reduce/eliminate reliance on income from volunteer events to supplement parish operating budget
- Establish and maintain a tuition assistance program for Ascension’s educational needs
- Strengthen sacrificial giving program
SHARING OUR GIFTS
- Establish database of parishioner skills and means to utilize them
- Develop training models for leadership positions
- Maintain parish awareness of ministry opportunities
FINANCIAL ADVISORY
- Provide oversight/advice on financial matters
- Balance financial operating requirements within parish
- Strengthen sacrificial giving programs
PLANNED GIVING
- Educate parishioners on merits of planned giving
- Provide educational opportunities on financial planning
- Establish long range plan to maintain awareness of planned giving.
