Community Program

A Community is a body of individuals with common interests living in a set area. Our community activities program demonstrates our support and concern for our local communities and beyond.

As a Catholic fraternal organization, we are strong in our faith when we are of service to others in need.

The information above and the possible activities are based on suggestions found on the Ohio State Council website. We are a new council and have started new programs, but we will continue to add more.

Providing care for our less fortunate friends is a wonderful service to provide which strengthens our community.

“Measure Up” is an annual program to raise money and awareness for those with special needs. We may also sponsor other activities thought the year to assist those in need.  A check for $856 was donated to the Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association from money raised by the Measure Up fundraiser.

Our council marched in the Holiday at Home Parade along with other organizations in the parish.

We received a return of $1,836 for charity from the Ohio Cash Bonanza raffle and sold the winning ticket.  We also sold tickets for the Football Frenzy Raffle.

We have begun helping the twinning committee and have a representative on the committee.  The twinning committee provides direct support to our councils’ namesake parish.

We provide support Good Shepard Ministries.

Emergency Relief Management has become a very important topic in our current times. We need to make sure all are educated about plans for disasters and the recovery from them.

Some people are unable to afford wheelchairs when they need them. To help our community we can also make sure that everyone has the means to become involved.

Throughout the country and especially in and around our community we need to support our veterans and service personnel. The men and women of our armed forces support our community in everything they have done and continue to do. We need to support these men and women that support and protect us as well as all of the emergency personnel.

We hosted a first responders’ breakfast.

The previous are examples of ways to support of community. We welcome any other suggestions.
