Every year, refugees fleeing violence and persecution from around the world find their way to Dayton, and our parish has been blessed to be a safe landing place for some of those families.  

In keeping with Ascension’s tradition of hospitality, on the weekend nearest July 4, you'll find a Freedom Tree in our narthex  and at the side doors decorated with stars.  Listed on each star is an item that will help a refugee set up a home.  You are invited to choose a star, purchase the item listed, and return it the following weekend, place it unwrapped in the marked container in the narthex.  Thanks for your generosity in welcoming the stranger.
